Stinging nettles, cyanotype, robinia wood, roofing lead

A series of tapestries woven from the fibres of stinging nettles. After processing the stems of the nettles into string, they are woven into a frame. Cyanotype, a photo-sensitive mixture of iron salts, is sprayed onto the tapestries and they are placed outside on the night of  a full moon. The UV-light from the moon reacts with the cyanotype so that everything that falls on the tapestry during the night leaves an impression on the surface.
